I’m Nick Nicastro. I run two small businesses in Central Ohio, Nicastro Properties and Campus Handyman, and I’ve been writing here since 2010. I live in Powell with my wife and our two kids.
The name of this blog says what it’s for: logical thinking in an illogical world. I write about philosophy, economics, parenting, leadership and common sense, usually because something in everyday life made me stop and think.
I try to be the adult in the room. That means saying the true thing even when it’s unpopular, conceding a point cleanly when I’m wrong, and treating the person on the other side of an argument with respect. I’d rather be challenged than agreed with, so if you think I’ve got something wrong, tell me.

I publish about twice a month. Subscribe below and each essay arrives in your inbox, or follow me on X, where every essay appears first.
One line I’ve lived by for a long time: remember where you came from, appreciate where you are, and focus on where you’re going.
